I haven't been up on here in a while, mostly because I've been working almost full time at my day job as well as nearing completion on shooting my first feature and there hasn't been a lot of time for writing. But as I near completion on shooting, editing a lot along the way, my priorities are transitioning towards getting ready for the premiere. I've dedicated, through serious sacrifice, the past three years of my life towards film, shooting, learning, growing.... This has all culminated in the shooting of my first feature: "Runaway Highway". The film chronicles a 25-year old woman named Belle Dawson in the days after the suicide of her bi-polar younger sister, Breanna. Estranged and alienated from her family through their dismissive behavior towards Breanna as she grew up, leads her to steal Breanna's ashes from the funeral home where they reside before taking to the road for a final journey with her sister before finally letting her go at a location that had special significance between them. This film has been a labor of love. I've been working on it since March and it's been practically a no-budget film that everyone involved has given so much to make this a beautiful reality.
That said, I am transitioning my focus to a small crowdfunding campaign I have put together to raise funds to rent out a local theatre in the Portland area. This is my first feature and it will be a major transitional period for me in the industry. But beyond that, this is a film that doesn't follow the same bland structure that so many films do today as well as delving into the raw human emotions of the gripping reality of the lives we lead. And I am posting here because I am posting practically everywhere I can to promote this small crowdfunding campaign to raise money in this regard. Anyone reading this, if you have the chance to donate even just a couple dollars that would me huge towards my cause and you'll be given special thanks credits in the film for helping it get to it's final place: in the theatre.
